Scent: Scent in double chocolate stout is dark and rich, full of chocolate and coffee aromas.

Taste: Double chocolate taste is... you guessed it... very rich chocolate. Other things you can taste are coffee, rich malt, hints of iron, hint of bitterness.

Aftertaste: Aftertaste in Youngs double chocolate stout similiar to chocolate made from 70% cacao. You can also taste hints of coffee that grown by the time.

For starters this stout is pretty difficult because it has so many different tastes and scents.

Tämä meripihkan värinen viski on erinomainen hankinta. Tuoksultaan tämä viski on makea, täyteläinen, sekä myös sherrymäinen ja vähän appelsiinimainen. Maultaan viskissä erottuu selvästi, että sitä on säilytetty sherrytynnyrissä, josta se on saanut makeita sherrymäisiä vivahteita. Maussa tulee myös esiin hento vanilja, hunaja ja hedelmäisyys. Jälkimaultaan viski on pitkä ja erittäin nautinnollinen.

This amber colored whisky is an excellent choice. Whiskys smell is sweet, rich and and hints of cherry and orange can be tasted. From its taste this whisky is very tasty because it has been stored in sherry barrels, from which the whisky has gotten its sherry aromas. You can also taste hints of vanilla, honey and fruits. Whiskys aftertaste is long and very enjoyable.

Asiaan!

Ennen kuin aloitan viskiarvioiden tekemisen, haluan antaa pari tärkeää neuvoa viskien nauttimisesta. Ensinnäkin lasin valitseminen, vaikka tämä kuulostaakin vähän pelleilyltä, on tärkeää. Parhaiten viskin nauttimiseen soveltuu siihen tarkoitukseen valmistettu viskilasi. Alla on kuvat kahdesta eri viskilasista, joista toinen on elokuvista, sekä tv-ohjelmistakin tuttu viskilasi, joka on tavallisen juomalasin näköinen. Toinen lasi on puolestaan viskilasi, joka muistuttaa muodoltaan tulppaania. Tämä lasi ohjaa viskin aromit paremmin nenään, kuin suoralaitainen lasi ja antaa näin ollen paremman “tuntuman” viskiin. Jos et taas omista viskilasia, tai et sellaista halua ostaa, voit ihan hyvin käyttää konjakkilasia, joka on kumminkin parempi vaihtoehto, kuin suoralaitainen viskilasi. Kun viskiä lähdetään maistelemaan tärkeintä on rauhallisuus. Älä kiirehdi, haistele viskiä, muista maistella sitä huolella ja pyörittele sitä suussasi. Maistelu tilanteessa viskiä voi laimentaa parilla tilkalla vettä ja tämä voikin tuoda viskin aromit paremmin esiin, mutta älkää missään nimessä käyttäkö jäitä!

On to the point!

Before I start making whisky testings I want to give few tips from how to enjoy whisky. First of what glass you should pick? It sound funny but it's important. To enjoy best whiskys you must pick a glass that is specially made for them. There are pics of two whisky glasses one of them is common in movies and TV-series and the other is a glass that looks like a tulip. This glass directs the aromas and smell from whisky directly to your nose and gives you a good "feeling" to whisky. If you do not own a whisky glass you can use cognac glass which is still better than a straight glass. When you start tasting whisky the most important thing is to be calm. Don't rush, smell it, remember to taste it completely and make rounds in your mouth with it. In the tasting you can use few drops of water to bring forward the aromas, but in any cases DON'T use ice cubes.
